While it lacks some of the premium features that are found on more expensive models (like no-go zones and multi-story memory) it's still a great option if you're willing to sacrifice a bit to save hundreds of dollars.
The Q5+ is extremely soft when it comes to obstacles like tables and walls. This makes it an ideal option for homes with lots of furniture. It's also very thorough in getting rid of dust bunnies which is an area where many cheaper robot vacuums often fail. The navigation technology in the Q5+ is excellent too, with very little missed corners and along walls.
Like other Roborock devices as well, the Q5+ can be controlled using a few buttons on the device or via the Roborock app. The app lets you start and stop cleanings, set schedules, create virtual barriers and no-go zones and modify your home map or change the labels of rooms.
If you choose the Q5+ it comes with a new auto-emptying dock that's designed to make this robot easier to maintain. Installing it requires a screwdriver but once it's installed, emptying the bin can be done easily. It features a large LCD screen that is very useful in setting up schedules and changing settings. This feature isn't necessary for most people but it can help effectively keep track of the robot's maintenance schedules.
3. Narwal Freo X Ultra
The Freo X Ultra is a well-rounded robot vacuum and mop that's impressively smart in both its mopping and vacuuming capabilities. Its design and features are some of the best on the market however, it's also expensive.
The base station is attractive and is easily hidden when not in use, and the size is quite compact. The primary selling point of the station is that it automates many tasks, functions and chores that other robots leave to you. It can store dirty and clean water and electrolyze and heat the water. The majority of other robots require this.
Its vacuuming performance is also impressive. It's the few robot vacuums I've tested that do a really good job of picking up debris on plain floors, and is not nearly as loud as the more expensive Roomba 980 or iRobot 900 series.
However, the Freo X Ultra has its flaws, particularly when it comes to navigation. Its laser sensors and LiDAR sensors aren't as reliable as other robotvacs. This means it is prone to getting stuck or confused in certain areas or rooms in the house. It's also not able to climb stairs as well as other models and doesn't come with a dock to create a cleaning area for carpets with plush padding.
The Freo X Ultra robot vacuum and mop is an excellent option for those looking for a vacuum robot that can do everything.
If you're looking to save some cash or simply don't care about the limitations of this machine There are many other options on the market with a wide range of eufy models that cost considerably less. The Eufy Qrevo curv, for instance is a bit more expensive and has more features, including stairs and a fully-function Dock, which provides a better overall vacuuming experience on plain floors carpets, low-pile carpets as well as high-pile carpets.
